NOTD: Orange/Pink Gradient with Leopard Print

Hi everybody! Sorry I've been MIA lately. I have been busy with back to school things for the past few weeks. I haven't had much time to blog. So I got my oldest daughter going to college, my middle child starting middle school and my youngest starting kindergarten this year! Also I had an unfortunate accident with a hot pan and bacon grease that I won't get into but that has made my hand a bit camera shy as well. :(

I persevered through the pain anyway. This is my first "real" mani in a long time. Enjoy :)

This is a base coat of China Glaze Papaya Punch and I sponged Sinful Colors Cream Pink on the tips. I then put a thin layer of NYX Girls Gilded Glitter over the whole nail. I still wanted to add on so then I stamped a leopard print with Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris. Later I filled in the spots with Maybelline New York Bold Gold. See pic below.

I love the way this came out. Leopard print is probably my "go-to" stamp. It is always fun using different colors beyond the traditional.

Thanks for looking.

Blue China Nails

I started with a base coast of white and then used striping tape to tape rows across my thumb. At first I wanted to do a tape mani on all my nails but got lazy so I just made those as accent nails. lol. I only have thin nail tape and it is hard to apply. It kept twisting and turning. It would go down crooked and I'd reset it. Finally I got frustrated and said to hell with it. So I found a stamp that I thought would look nice with what I did so far. The image is from a plate that came with the Salon Express kit. It was from plate SE 10. I stamped on top of  Sinful Colors Blue By You with Sinful Colors Snow Me White. It looks like some fancy pattern on antique China. I love it.  Thanks for looking! Hope you like it.

Another Unicorn Mani

It is so depressing that summer is almost over, for me at least. The kids start school in two weeks. Some schools in other districts have already started. So today I wanted to brighten up my mood by wearing some neons from the Color Club Electro Candy collection. Most of the colors have a blue shimmer. They are really beautiful. I decided to do a gradient and top it with Cover Band Sticks and Stones. Then I stamped a unicorn for accents from Mash-39 on my thumb and ring finger. Unicorns are awesome!

I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White as a base. Then Color Club Volt of Light on each finger. For the blue, I sponged Color Club Pure Energy on top. For the pink, I used Color Club Electro Candy. Gradients are such a PITA for me. This one was no different. But I still love the way it looks. I can never get a soft gradient. The lines never blend well. That's why I added the glitter on top. You can hardly notice.  Thanks for looking!

Ikat Nail Design

Sorry if my instagram posts are random or annoying. I have it set up automatically to post on Blogger for me whenever I take a picture on Instagram. And I am on IG way too much (probably more than facebook!)

So this is just a proper post of my Ikat nail design.

I've seen this design before on nails, on clothes, on bags....It is called Ikat and I have always said "I-kat" like Ipod, but I guess it is "E-kat".  I'm not sure how I feel about it. I kind of like it and I kind of don't. I love the "feathery" look they have but hate the way they kind of look like weird eye balls. Hehheh. Also I think my nails are too small maybe for this design and it would probably look better on longer nails. I recently filed my nails down due to one of my nails breaking beyond the free edge. Ouch! Anyway this design is very easy to do, yet I still looked up a tutorial for it. I'm so lame. ha ha.

Colors I used are: Sinful Colors Grecian Sun for the base. Then Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Sally Hansen Orange Impulse, and Wet N Wild Black Creme.

Franken Polish Part 3

So this is the last franken I wanted to share. This is by far my favorite. You can tell once you look at the pics which indie polish was my inspiration for this. Hint: it is a Nerd Lacquer.

This is the bottle shot.

Here are some pics of it on my nails.

It is hard to tell in the photos but it has a silver shimmer. The base was Sinful Colors Mint Apple. I added some Sally Hansen Glass Slipper, Sinful Colors Pearl Harbor, Sinful Colors Be Happy, a no name silver holographic hex glitter from Forever 21, and Jordana Magenta Magic. What do you think?

Franken Polishes Part 2

This is my second franken I've made this week. I have one more to show tomorrow and that one is my favorite! Today though I'm sharing a pink with some gold, bronze, silver and iridescent glitter. I guess, subconsciously,  I had the Olympic Medals in mind. I don't know what to call it yet but I want to stay away from anything "strawberry" or "berry".

This is it in the bottle.

Here it is on my nails.

This is only made up of three different polishes I have. The base is a pink Color Club. It doesn't have a name on it so I don't know which one it is. :(  It came in a set from Ross. Then I added Jordana Bronze Fest and a little Spoiled Jewelry Heist.

Franken Polishes Part 1

I've been trying to save money lately and not buy impulsively [nail polish]. I figured if I really want a polish, I should make my own. I have enough polish to come up with a dupe or something close if I really wanted. So let me share what I have made lately. I have only made one of each and these aren't for sale (not like they are worthy of being for sale). I'm just doing this for fun!

My first polish is a gray based polish with blue and iridescent glitter. Believe it or not, gray is one of my favorite colors. I haven't worn it much because a lot of gray polish looks the same. I only have one or two in my stash. I wanted a light gray with some sparkle and shimmer so this is what I frankened.  I'm no pro yet and what I came up with looks great in the bottle but still not great on my nails. But I still like it. It just needs some more tweaking. So far I've named it Civil War.

Here are some bottle shots.
Look how gorgeous this is!

Here it is on my nails.

I used a variety of polishes to make this. It is not from scratch. I used a little  Bon Bons iridescent pastel glitter in a clear base. I forgot the name and the label is gone.  I added a little Orly Spazmatic, Love & Beauty Silver (a silver scattered holo), and Zoya Dove. It was too sheer so I added a few drops of Wet N Wild Black Creme. But seeing how the Bon Bons bottle is super tiny, a few drops might have been too much. I'd like it to be a little lighter and the glitter and shimmer to show more. Maybe I just need to shake it  a lot more or add some more base.

Thanks for reading. Let me know your thoughts on this. Tomorrow I'll share another.
