31 Day Challenge 2013 and also the Crumpet's Nail Tarts 33 Day Challenge

So I guess it is time to get some energy back into this blog so I've decided to participate in a couple of challenges.

First is the 31 Day Challenge introduced by Chalkboard Nails. I don't think I'll do this for 31 consecutive days. Since the other challenge I'll be doing (more on that in a bit) will be every Mon, Wed, and Fri. I'll probably just do these Sun, Tues, and Thurs. Tomorrow will be the first day!

So the next challenge I'll be doing is the Crumpets Nail Tarts 33 Day Challenge. You can find more info about this here. So this officially starts on Sept 23 and designs are supposed to be posted on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I'm excited to start this one. Look at all the great ideas!

These are open to anyone so feel free to join in if you want!

Review Born Pretty Full Coverage Water Decals

Today I am posting my review on these full coverage nail decals that I bought from BornPretty.

These are water transfer decals for nails. The design I bought is kind of vintage beach designs. There are surf boards, a hula lady, palm trees, tropical drinks and a tropical hut, among other little designs.

Here is a closer look at the designs.

These came 12 to a pack and they were strips, kind of like the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail strips if you have ever used those. I had no trouble using these. They came with clear directions. They all fit my nails perfectly. It is hard to believe these are actually made from real nail polish since they have to be dipped in water to be applied.

These decals were only $1.55 USD and it was hard to believe they went on perfectly. For that price, I was really expecting some bumps and wrinkles but look at how smooth these are! There was no bunching, wrinkling, or bumps.

Basically, you just prep your nails pushing cuticles back and cleaning the nail. Then you choose a strip that fits best and soak it in water. The decals peel right off the backing and then you place the decal on your nail and smooth it out. Tweezers really come in handy. Then apply topcoat and you are done. These lasted a few days before I removed them. They still held up great, I just got bored and needed something else on my nails.

I bought this with my own money and this review is my honest opinion on this product. I highly recommend these.

Nail Art Haul Part 2

Finally got my next order delivered of nail art goodies. This is my recent BornPretty order. These are all products I bought myself.

Mint Green and Lavender 2mm studs. I love how they have all these different colors of pastel and neons. Right after I placed my order, they announced they started selling an assortment of colors in those plastic wheel thingies. Ugh, guess I'll be ordering again soon. I really wanted all the colors.

Hard to see but these are little tiger eye type stones. Some are oval, some are hearts.

The last thing I have are these nail decals. I've already used them so I'll put a review up soon. Spoiler alert: I love them!
I'm trying to think else I have coming. I think I just have stamping plates that I ordered off Aliexpress and some rubber 3d nail art molds. See I've just been going crazy lately. Thanks for looking!

Nail Art Haul

I have been spending a lot of money lately. Someone stop me. These aren't even polishes I've been buying. It is all nail art embellishments. I have so much in fact, that I think I'm breaking down the posts into parts. So this is part one.

I recently placed an order on Dollarnailart.com. I bought a bunch of foils, studs, and and rhinestones. These are all the foils.

I really should pay more attention though to the sizing because I was expecting most of the studs and rhinestones to be a little bigger. That's ok though, it is hard to find them this small at a hobby store. If I need bigger ones, I can go to Michaels.

I found Stylishnailart on Instagram who also sells gold shells! I've seen these on Tumblr for a while on Japanese nail art. I couldn't find them anywhere online. I guess they are so popular in Japan that they have been sold out for a while. But Joanna (Sylishnailart) had some for sale so I quickly bought them. She has great prices and ships fast. She ships from Japan and I got my package in about a week! So definetly look her up if you are interested in these shells. She has the larger size also. She doesn't have an online shop but rather you can email her or KiK her (Kik is a instant message app) what you want. She instagrams what she has available for sale. Look at the cute packaging. It is a Hello Kitty ziploc bag they are in! She also sent some Japanese candy and a little make up bag for free.

Transdesign sells nail charms like the ones I bought from Hex Nail Jewelry but way cheaper! They sell sets of 10 for the price of 1 charm from Hex. They don't carry all the same charms but there were a few I had to get.
It is hard to see from the pic but the shapes I got from left to right are: lion, $ w/ a little rhinestone attached, unicorn head, a hand holding a rhinestone, horseshoes, little studs, unicorns, and "rice shape" studs. The unicorns are exactly the same as the ones on Hexnails. Here is a comparison.
The bottom is from Hexnails. The top are the ones from Transdesign. As far as I can tell they are the same even in quality. So I was glad to find these.  I will definitely still order from Hexnails though. They have a lot of other designs that are unique to them that I can't find anywhere else.
'
So that was the first part of my haul. I'm still waiting on a lot of stuff to be delivered to me since they are shipping from overseas. Can't wait to show them!
